In May 2019,we embarked on this journey, a team of four individuals with no prior experience in the insurance industry.
Together with our co-founders—Byron, Yong, Brandon, and Cathee—we took a leap of faith,
fueled by determination and a vision for what we could achieve.
Back then, 1670 Mabuhay was just a small group, navigating uncharted waters and learning as we went.
It wasn’t always easy, but we persevered. Step by step, we built something extraordinary
—not just a team, but a family bound by shared values and a passion for making a
difference in people’s lives.
Fast forward to today, 2025, from those humble beginnings, 1670 Mabuhay has grown into a thriving district with a remarkable 250-strong manpower. A testament to our collective hard work, resilience, and commitment to excellence.

Byron Mendoza

Byron grew up in a family-owned furniture manufacturing business that primarily exported to the U.S. market, serving as the family's long-standing source of income. When the industry began to decline, Byron took the initiative to explore various business ventures across different sectors throughout his entrepreneurial journey.

Cathee studied in Beijing for a year after graduating as an IT major. As the agency’s director, her role in development is one of highly analytical strategy and complex operation, contributing similar caliber effort as that of her husband, Byron, via her diverse skillset and vast network. In a business that requires utmost confidence, her background and history as an industry professional highly impacts the agency’s success.
“As a couple, we stayed in the industry because what we build is truly ours. We create our own achievements, which in turn facilitates the achievements of others. We carved our own success story though networking and expansion, and now we provide the building blocks for
others to do the same. Building a community of like-minded entrepreneurs who all appreciate financial freedom - that’s always been our goal. The deeper you go, it really is less about the business, and more about the impact that helping the community has on not just an individual level, but toward the people we work with; for humanity - and for society as a whole.
I get to play a physical, important role in the success of others as I build my own path within this business - and that’s something that I find genuinely fulfilling and worthy of my time and dedication. You don’t have to finish school to succeed, because equal opportunities exist for everyone - even more so when your survival depends on it. For some, their desire to persevere burns strong enough to keep them going, even when the going gets rough. It’s nice in the sense that greatness is achievable if you truly apply yourself. As I continued networking and learning the ropes, I began to build confidence and important people skills that helped shape who I am today, and who I want the future me (and the future team) to be.“

Brandon is a cofounder and vital key member of our organization. As a contractor and financial wealth associate manager, he’s known for his sharp analytical and architectural prowess - which played a key role in the physical development of the company’s main office facilities. Brandon is cherished by the team for his uncanny ability to view the company and its infrastructure from an outside perspective, providing innovative, multi-industry solutions for the everyday challenges they face.
In his personal life, he’s a firm endorser of entrepreneurial family partnerships. Alongside his wife, they both value the working couple dynamic, as they’re both driven by the
